Tracker Certification
Check out the article “Relearning the Language of the Land" by Ben Goldfarb in the November 2024 issue of Smithsonian. Why????? It is a fascinating article about the resurgence of wildlife tracking and the Track & Sign Certification process. BUT the hidden gem is that the Tracker Certification nonprofit organization featured in the article was co-founded by Cold Hollow to Canada’s Sophie Mazowita, who serves as its Operations Manager alongside Executive Director Casey McFarland (pictured below). Sophie is also a certified Track & Sign Specialist, one of 57 trackers in North America who hold this top-level Certificate. We are very honored to have such an amazing expert on our staff hosting the Certification that is described in the article. If you ever have the opportunity to spend time with Sophie or to sign up for a Track & Sign Certification- you are in for a treat. You are learning from the best of the best.
Did we peak your interest? Would you be compelled to improve your own Track & Sign abilities?
Sophie hosts regular workshops and certification courses through CHC, and there are two coming up in 2025 that you still have time to sign-up for. Spots are limited, so click the link below for more information and to register.
