Dam Removal with Restoration Ecologist Karina Daily
Join UMATR for the first installment of the winter speaker series. Vermont Natural Resources Council (VNRC) Restoration Ecologist Karina Daily will be presenting on her work with dam removal. Karina has been with VNRC since April 2020. In her role, she is responsible for running VNRC’s dam removal program and contributing her scientific knowledge and expertise to policy issues around the conservation and restoration of Vermont’s waters. In the past, Karina was Senior Ecologist at Trudell Consulting Engineers (TCE) in Williston, overseeing natural resource-related projects and providing testimony for Act 250 and Act 248 land use permitting projects. Dailey was also a Project Manager for the Winooski Natural Resources Conservation District and a Restoration Ecologist for the US Fish and Wildlife Service and Intervale Nursery. Before moving to Vermont, she taught environmental science and worked in conservation in the Greater Yellowstone area in Wyoming. Karina holds a Masters in Environmental Science from Antioch University New England, and a B.A. in Environmental Studies and Sociology from St. Lawrence University. Karina is a Certified Wetland Scientist and Wildlife Biologist. We are looking forward to her presentation!
