Monthly Birding
First Saturday of the month | 8 – 9:30 AM | FREE
Locations may vary | Meet at NBNC
No Registration Required | Cancelled in the event of very cold temperatures or severe weather.
A casual morning of birding for all interests and experience levels facilitated by NBNC staff and guest leaders. These new monthly gatherings take place at various locations around the Montpelier area, and are about spending time enjoying our resident wild birds. No binoculars? No problem! The only requirement is an appreciation of birds (though we do have binoculars for those who would like them). No experience necessary.
Location: North Branch Nature Center
Distance: This outing covers between 0.25 and .6 miles.
Terrain and surface: The trails are 6’-wide grass paths over compacted dirt. The trails are flat with no cross-grade. One 20’ section of the trail has a 10% grade over a 100’ distance, and can be avoided. There are several benches along the route. Please let us know ahead of the program how we can better accommodate your accessibility needs. Please expect winter weather (snow and ice) to change trail conditions considerably.
Our Shared Commitment
Take care of yourself. Take care of others. Take care of the earth.
We strive to help people feel welcomed, oriented to the landscape, engaged, inspired, safe, and part of our community. We ask that our visitors and participants share this commitment while at North Branch Nature Center and during our programs. We expect that all who enter this shared space do so in the spirit of welcoming kindness, inclusivity, respect, and curiosity.
