Join Hank Kaestner, former spice buyer for McCormick Spices and accomplished birder, for a talk on this unique ecosystem. He'll speak about the 4 Cs of Madagascar - Culture, Cultivation of vanilla and cloves, Conservation of the world's most unique flora and fauna, and Cheating (mislabeling of vanilla ice cream)! Kaestner has traveled to the island of Madagascar over forty times to purchase vanilla and to see the birds there. As a birder, he has reached the staggering number of 7,000 birds on his life list, and will share with us images of ones he found on this unique island.
