The Family Forest Carbon Program Webinar occurred on February 28th (click here for the recording) and provided a lot of information to small forest landowners. Experts Sierra Giraud, Senior Forestry Manager (AFF), and Jim Shallow, Director of Strategic Conservation Initiatives (TNC) were present for a webinar presentation and discussion of how landowners can become involved with the program. They covered the basics of carbon markets, explain how the program works and its current status, how landowners enroll, what benefits they receive, and how the Verra-approved carbon accounting methodology works. They also discussed how the program interacts with Current Use.

Since a lot of information went out in late February, CHC planned a Family Forest Carbon Program Follow Up Q&A Session for our Woodlots Program members to come with your questions and continue the conversation with with Sierra Giraud, Senior Forestry Manager (AFF), Jim Shallow, Director of Strategic Conservation Initiatives (TNC), and CHC's Executive Committee members Charlie Hancock and Everett McGinley for a discussion. The Follow Up Q&A Session occurred on 3/30/23. We took the hour to address your questions and continue the discussion about the Family Forest Carbon Program.
