Art In Nature Workshop with Ariel K McKnight Burgess

Have you ever wanted to draw what you see in the woods, but you're not sure where to start? Would you like to better understand the world around you, and enhance your own observation skills? While we sometimes see art as a way to capture what we see, art can also be a way of exploring the world more deeply. Join Cold Hollow to Canada and artist Ariel K McKnight Burgess for this nature journaling workshop, where participants will hone their observation skills as we put pen to paper (or pencil, charcoal, or crayon) and sketch what we find.

Saturday, September 24th, 2-3:30pm

Waterville Town Green (544 VT Route 109)

You may have seen some of Ariel's art at the VT Fish & Wildlife Dead Creek Visitor Center in Addison, or the Ed Weed Fish Culture Station in Grand Isle. You can see additional works on her webpage. Ariel teaches interdisciplinary courses at Champlain College that combine her talents as an ecologist and an artist, and is pursuing a doctorate in ecopsychology.

All ages and abilities welcome! Registration is recommended but not required, by following this link. Those who register will receive updates if changes are required due to weather or other factors. Please bring your own journal and writing/sketching/drawing materials. (Anything will work for this workshop:  pencils, pens, paints, crayons; paper, canvas, notepad; or any other of your favorite mediums!)
